Cambridge Blue and Black were successful at the BUSA Qualifiers 2019, held at Grafham Water 2/3 February 2019. They go through to the BUSA Finals 2019, to be held on 9-11 April at Spinnaker SC. Cambridge Purple get a second chance to qualify in the Playoffs at Derwent Reservoir on 2-3 March.
The BUSA Qualifiers 2019, organised by Warwick University at Grafham Water, were a complete success. Windy and cold conditions on the Saturday resulted in some breakages and quite a few spills. Conditions were ideal on the Sunday with sunshine and a gentle breeze. With three flights in use, each of the 18 teams completed at least 14 races over the weekend.

Cambridge were well represented in the BUSA Qualifiers 2019 event management: Event Director was Karen Thomas (Lucy Cavendish 2017); Principal Race Officer Tim Palmer (St Catharines 2011); and Chief Umpire Chris Atkins (Pembroke 1974). In addition, a good many current Cambridge students assisted the organisers.
