This website is for anyone who is interested in Cambridge team racing, dinghy sailing, windsurfing, kiteboarding, wingfoiling, and match racing. Club sailing takes place in boats of 30 feet in length or under. ‘Big Boat’ stuff in craft over 24 feet in length is the province of the CU Yacht Club. And we get together in the overlap!

Sustainability at the CUCrC
As sailors we depend on the outside environment more than perhaps any other sport. Having a healthy and clean aquatic environment is key to our enjoyment and safety as is having a clean shore environment. Due to this we at CUCrC place great focus on sustainability.
Following Gold in the 2022-23 RYA Green Blue University Sailing Sustainability Challenge, in 2023-24 the club achieved Platinum Level.
Green Blue is an environmental program initiated by the RYA and British Marine. It aims to enable and empower boating communities to help safeguard waters, wildlife and habitats. These communities work by raising sustainability awareness, providing resources, delivering education and working with government bodies and other organisations to ensure that boating practise is as sustainable as possible.
This year we are doing safety and wildlife audits at the Club, running social media advice campaigns, organising lakeside ‘beach’ cleans, arranging clothes and kit swaps, as well as running many other fun and educational events. If you have additional ideas about how we can improve sustainability at the Club, our dedicated sustainability officer, Mia Becker is eager to hear your opinions.
Cambridge sailors take sustainability seriously and last year the Club won a Bronze Award in the RYA Green Blue competition.
