Cambridge Freshers Fair on 2/3 October 2018 was the usual scene of controlled frenzy with the Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre and Parkers Piece awash with stands and importuning students. The Cruising Club was to the fore with a Firefly and windsurfer outside and a stand inside with an excellent banner – provided by the Sports Service. Taster Weekend
The Taster Weekend on 6/7 October ran as usual, but strong cold winds and rain on Saturday meant that the afternoon sessions had to be cancelled. Sunday Tasters had better luck, with sunshine and gentle breezes providing an excellent ‘tasting’ environment. Photographs of Sunday’s activities are in the gallery below.
University Trials
Survival conditions on the Saturday of the University Trials weekend (13/14 October) meant that racing had to be cancelled – though three boats went out and revelled in the fun conditions. Trialling started on the Sunday, with good racing on full sails in the morning and on cut-downs in the afternoon.
