Recent Results

Look under ‘Recent News’ on the right-hand side of any page for detailed reports on recent Cambridge sailing successes. Yachting Varsity Match won; RYA Match Racing (Round 3) won and 5th at BUSA Match Racing; Alumni team (Royal Thames Blue) finish runners-up at the Wilson Trophy (congratulations!) and Cambridge Blue finish 10th (congratulations also!).

A recent intensive trawl through the Club’s archives at the University Library has enabled us to fill in college details for early Varsity Match teams (1912 to 1977). We are missing just a few college details in the years 1988 to 2008.

We have also been able to complete details for Ladies Varsity Match teams for much of the 1970’s. However, significant gaps remain and we need the results for 1962-72, 1984-89, and 1999-2005. If you can help, please get in touch.

In the case of the Windsurfing Varsity Match we are missing team details between 1983 and 2011. If you can help, please get in touch. We are hoping to have a complete history in place for our 125th Anniversary celebrations – of all the various types of Varsity Match.

A big thank you to everyone who has helped so far with this historical exercise. We have received no less than 270 emails on the topic!

Best wishes,

Anthony Butler

Alumni Administrator
