What A Team! (Spring Newsletter 2015)

Cambridge dominated the recent BUSA Team Racing Championships and defeated Oxford 3-2 in a thrilling final at Notts County SC on 10 April. In addition, all three Cambridge teams got to the final knock-out stages of the competition, with Yellow finishing 4th and Pink 7th. Such a performance has never been achieved by any other university since the 1990s. Congratulations to three great teams! Arthur Henderson and Tim Gratton have been selected for the BUSA team to tour America in September – personal congratulations to them in particular. Finally, not to be outdone, the ladies finished 3rd in their university championships, held at Spinnaker in March. Congratulations ladies!

Thank You for Your Support

A very big ‘thank you’ to the many of you who have been supporting Cambridge sailing over the past few years. I do hope you feel that your support has been rewarded. Without the gifts you have contributed towards the purchase of new and additional flights of Fireflies, the last two years of Cambridge success would simply not have happened.

For those of you who have not yet done so, there is still an opportunity to participate in the Club’s outstanding achievements – our current appeal remains open until the end of July, closing shortly after the Varsity Match. We have just confirmed an order for 6 new Fireflies and, with a funding shortfall of around £2,000, we welcome new sources of support.

Data Validation

As already announced, our data validation campaign will commence in September. You will receive a clear statement of the data we hold for you in our records so that you can check it and request amendment or correction where appropriate.
